Photos of the Week: Well folks, I’d like to present Fredrick (name of car) 2.0. Here is my car finally with all the upgrades I have been planning for some time. Man I can’t be happier. The one great thing about being an adult is the fact I can spend the cash to build my project the “right” way and by “right” I mean properly without “half-assing” anything. I got my work done by some awesome VW specialists down in Lake Forrest, CA called Pacific German. If any of you so cal VW enthusiasts want work to be done right, I highly recommend these family owned VW gurus. The hardest thing about this project thus far has been the wheels and suspension. I put on 17x9 Enkei RPF1s wrapped in BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2s with a H&R Sport Cup Kit. I didn’t expect the car to get this low. In hindsight, I would have used the H&R Touring Cup Kit which doesn’t drop the car as low. But it does look phenomenal. I was recommended a fender roller who has done 100s of cars on the VWVortex forums named Tony. Extremely knowledgable and awesome guy writes articles for the infamous VW Performance magazine. The front wheels were not rubbing quite yet but then again the springs haven’t settled all the way so it was only a matter of time. With the new suspension and sway bars, the car is like a go kart around corners. The Neuspeed pulley kit, turbo discharge pipe, intake, and Revo Stage 1 make 2nd and 3rd gear scare me a bit. The torque that this diesel produces now is awesome. Going up hills are my favorite because it just doesn’t stop pulling! Here is a list of all the modifications I’ve done to my car so far in order:
If any of you guys out there have some questions about modding your mk6 TDIs let me know and hopefully I can shed some insight. I may do some brake upgrades in the future but for now I couldn’t be happier with the way my car turned out. I’ll post some follow up photo shoot pictures as well!
